What woman would not wish for a perfect manicure? Yet, it can only be obtained through a lot of effort in care. It is not surprising that many women are willing to invest time and resources into nail care because this seemingly small detail completes the female image.
Today a woman can choose from so many shapes and types of manicure as there never were in the whole of history. However, French manicure is still, and will always remain classy and in style. Even though it is simple and looks easy, you need great care and a sure hand in order to give yourself a French tip.
This type of manicure first appears in the year 1976, when a film producer turns to a manicure company director with a plea for the creation of such a manicure that would be suitable for every actress and every role. This is how the famous French manicure is born – giving the nails a natural healthy look and underlining their tip with a bright line of white polish.
French manicure is usually done on nails with a natural curve with medium length and an oval tip. Contemporary methods will allow substituting the white tip with a silver or golden stripe which can give a touch of eccentricity and uniqueness to your manicure.
Before attempting any type of manicure, first you will have to attend to the health of your nails and hand skin. Start with a relaxing hand bath. The whole procedure takes only 5 minutes. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of sea salt in a liter of warm water and soak your hands up to the wrists for 5-7 minutes. Dry the hands off with a soft towel and rub with moisturizing lotion.
Cover the nails with a base layer of clear nail polish or special nail base. Add a layer of transparent or light pink nail polish. At the tip of each nail add a stripe of white, silver or golden nail polish starting at the ends and working toward the middle. If you find it difficult to draw a straight line, use some of the special French tip aids found in cosmetic shop. Add a top layer of clear nail polish or hardener in order to preserve your creation.
